The Town of Landis has announced the appointment of Phil Conrad as their Interim Town Manager. Mr. Conrad has agreed to serve as Interim Town Manager from November 30, 2022, until March 31, 2023, at which any additional needs or service time will be discussed by the Board of Alderman.
Mr. Conrad has successfully served as Interim Town Manager of several municipalities in Rowan County, including Granite Quarry, and East Spencer. Phil, a native of Davidson County, is a nationally certified planner since 2003 with over 25 years of local government experience. He has served in both the mayor-council form of local government with the Town of East Spencer as interim administrator and the council-manager form of local government with the Town of Granite Quarry as town manager from 2015 to 2019. He has a bachelor's degree from Davidson College and more recently a master's degree in city planning. He is married to Melissa Bunch Conrad who is originally from Rockingham County, and together they have 2 daughters who both graduated Jesse Carson High School and who attend UNC at Chapel Hill.
The Town of Landis Board of Aldermen will begin the recruitment process for a permanent Town Manager in January of 2023.
