FOIA Request to Rowan County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Rowan News have sent a request under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., to the Rowan County Election Department. The request is for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election.
The information sought includes not only the candidates' full names but also the offices they are running for and their respective jurisdictions. Additionally, we've asked for details about each candidate's party affiliation.
To ensure transparency and open communication between candidates and voters, we've also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As members of the media committed to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
