Food Lion Feeds recently concluded its seventh annual Orange Bag campaign, which, in partnership with its customers, resulted in the provision of over 14.8 million meals. This initiative aims to combat food insecurity and benefits Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief organization, along with local food banks across Food Lion's 10-state service area. Since 2019, the campaign has supported 33 food bank locations through the sale of specially marked orange bags and cash donations, contributing to a collective total of 25 million meals. Food Lion Feeds, established in 2014, was created to tackle food insecurity in local communities.
Casey Marsh, Chief Development Officer of Feeding America, expressed appreciation for the collaboration, stating, "Ending hunger is a mission that requires strong collaboration, which is why we’re grateful for partners like Food Lion who are helping us ensure everyone has access to the food and resources they need to thrive."

This participation has grown from previous years, underscoring the financial challenges many families face. Food Lion Feeds partners with Feeding America to ensure people within their operating area have access to nutritious food.

We are committed to doing our part because everyone deserves access to nutritious food."
From February 26 to March 18, Food Lion customers had multiple options to support the campaign, including purchasing specially marked orange bags and making donations at the register or via digital keypads. Food Lion Feeds, since its inception, has provided more than 1 billion meals and aims to donate 1.5 billion meals by 2025.
Food Lion's broader hunger relief efforts have led to the donation of over 1.5 billion meals since 2014, with a goal of 3 billion by 2032.
