City of Salisbury issued the following announcement on Jan. 18.
Salisbury Fire Chief Robert Parnell is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Pinkston to the rank of Lieutenant effective Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Lieutenant Andrew Pinkston joined the department in 2015 as a Fire Control Specialist. Prior to becoming a full-time firefighter, Lieutenant Pinkston served previously as both a part-time and volunteer firefighter. He was also a fire hydrant maintenance technician while in school. Lieutenant Pinkston was promoted to Engineer in 2017.
Lieutenant Pinkston, a graduate of West Rowan High School, holds state certifications as a Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials Technician. He is assigned to Engine 3, “C” shift.
