Salisbury NC Fire Department issued the following announcement on July 26.
We remember Captain John Cross as he succumbed to a cardiac event July 24, 1961 at old SFD Station 2, now Station 5.
This is the 60th anniversary of his LODD. Captain Cross was the second of three generations that would serve SFD. In the group pic, he is on the back row, far right.
