On Tuesday, March 4, former Jesse C. Carson High School standout Liza Simmerson’s current college team, the USC Upstate Spartans, won 8-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the College of Charleston Cougars.

The game took place at Cyrill Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Cougars this season.

The Upstate Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 7 at 12 p.m. at Patricia Wilson Field against Bryant Bulldogs.
