DYK each year, the worlds rivers and streams carry up to 2.7 metric tons of plastic to the ocean? Special thanks to #rowancountync Environmental Management staff for their daily efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Staff have created a tree sculpture made entirely of recycled plastics and aluminum to help us get ready for Rowan Creek Week 2022! The sculpture was installed at Horizons Unlimited this afternoon and will "grow" to include student artwork made from recycled materials.
Be sure to join us for the kick-off of #RowanCreekWeek at Horizons on Saturday, September 17, from 4-6 PM. Kids are encouraged to bring their own plastic bottles to make a craft.
