Christmas Tournament Shooting Incident Update

City of Salisbury issued the following announcement on Dec. 31.

The Salisbury Police Department was able to obtain secure custody orders for two juvenile individuals who were identified as the shooters in the incident at Catawba College that took place on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. 

The juveniles were located today, Friday, Dec. 31, and transported to Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center. Each juvenile was charged with two counts of attempted murder with more criminal charges forthcoming. The suspects cannot be named at this time due to their ages.

The Salisbury Police Department would like to thank the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Statesville Police Department for their assistance. The Salisbury Police Department would like to also thank the community for all of the information given during this investigation.
