Rowan-Salisbury School System issued the following announcement on Oct. 25.
Fifth-grade students at Knollwood Elementary School participated in their first of six Muddy Sneakers days on September 20th and October 6th, 2021. Our 5th graders really enjoyed their first field trip since 2019.

Our fifth-grade students were able to visit a nearby, protected land area. The goal for this trip was to introduce the students to the marvels of the natural world by using experiential methods to teach the science curriculum. The goal of Muddy Sneakers is to create a lifelong love of nature. Ultimately, this is done in a way that enhances academic achievement, inspires the joy of living, and plants an understanding of the interconnectedness of all things.
This was the first of six Muddy Sneakers experiences our 5th graders will enjoy this year.
