Rowan Public Library issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Join The Edith M. Clark History Room and Rowan Museum Inc. as they co-host authors Christine and Dennis McClure!
On September 7 at 7 pm, The McClures will be discussing their two books We Fought the Road and A Different Race: World War II, The Alaska Highway, Racism, and a Court-Martial. Both books concern African American troops, some from Rowan County, and their experiences during WWII and building the road to Alaska.
This program will be held in-person in RPL Headquarters’ Stanback Auditorium and virtually via Zoom. For Zoom meeting information, register at bit.ly/RPLSept2021Al-CanPres and Zoom information will be sent to you by September 3.
