Town of Spencer recently issued the following announcement.

ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT WEAPONS IN MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS AND ON MUNICIPAL PROPERTY

WHEN:		TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020 5:30 P.M.
WHERE:		SPENCER FIRE DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE ROOM 208 Salisbury Avenue Spencer, NC

The Public shall take notice that at the date, time and place indicated above, the Town of Spencer Board of Aldermen will conduct a public hearing at a called meeting to receive comments regarding its intent to consider an ordinance prohibiting firearms within municipal buildings and on municipal property where the Town has authority to prohibit such. Be advised this meeting will have limited in-person seating in observance of COVID-19 parameters.

The Town Board will also accept public comments by either :

1) Submitting written comments addressed to the Clerk and delivered to Town Hall (600 Salisbury Avenue) prior to the meeting time, or

2) Submitting written comments by email at townclerk@townofspencer.com

The proposed ordinance will be available at townofspencer.com and available to pick up at Town Hall by Friday, October 23. Be advised that significant changes to the public hearing version of the proposed ordinance may occur as a result of public comment or action taken by the Board.
