TOWN OF GRANITE QUARRY: A Message from Jason Hord – Granite Quarry Public Works

Town of Granite Quarry issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.

As of 8/5/20 at 8:00 am, the 2020 Resurfacing Project has started. There are a few (Town-maintained) streets that are getting completely paved or patched in various locations. J.T. Russell and Sons paving will be in town for 1-2 weeks completing the project.

In various locations milling or grinding of old asphalt is required to resurface to an accepted quality. During this time you may experience some traffic congestion, rougher-than-normal ride conditions between grinding and paving, and dusty conditions. Please note that once the project is complete the results will definitely be worth the short inconvenience.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Keep in mind many have concerns about State-maintained roads in town that are not resurfaced by the Town, but instead by NCDOT.

The following streets will have paving/patching done in locations.

N. Jack Street

Yadkin Street

North and South Oak

Rowan Street

Railroad Street

Depot Street

Kerns Street

N. Kayla Drive

Phillip Drive

E. Church Street

Foil Street

Garland Drive

Palisade Drive

Dominion Drive

Kluttz Street

N. Cleo Street
