A new bill filed by State Rep. Campbell in the North Carolina House seeks to establish training programs at community colleges for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification, according to the North Carolina State House.

In essence, this bill appropriates $700,000 in one-time funds for the 2025-26 fiscal year from the General Fund to be divided equally between Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Wake Technical Community College. The purpose of the appropriation is to establish training sites for certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Each community college will use up to $105,000 to hire a full-time faculty member, another $105,000 for a clinical coordinator, $45,000 for equipment and supplies, and up to $95,000 for program development and accreditation costs. The bill becomes effective upon becoming law.
