North Carolina State Rep. Grant L. Campbell, MD has introduced a bill in the state House that would change the criteria used to determine design flow rates for permitted wastewater treatment systems.
Rowan County has scheduled a public meeting on May 20 regarding plans to expand its landfill in Woodleaf. The event invites community input and aims to explain how expansion could increase capacity and protect groundwater. Educational data from local schools was also highlighted.
The Friends of Rowan Public Library will host a special bag sale at its Second Saturday Bookshop on May 9. Shoppers can fill a provided plastic bag with books for $5 or buy a reusable tote for $10 during this community fundraising event.
