FOIA Request to Rowan County regarding vendor payment registers on January 15, 2026.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted by Rowan News to Rowan County, North Carolina, seeking access to vendor payment registers. The request specifically asks for records covering the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. The requested documents should include the names of vendors paid by the county, the dates and amounts of payments made, and descriptions of the goods or services purchased.

Rowan News is a media organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. In light of their role as a media professional involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, Rowan News has also requested a fee waiver for accessing these records.

Of note within Rowan County’s educational sector is that out of 1,228 senior students taking the science portion of the ACT in local school districts during the 2022-23 school year, only 151 students (12.3%) were considered ready for college.
